Sorry that I missed Monday and Tuesday of classes! Yesturday I was at school in the morning but Mrs. Cargill called me to tell me that my daughter was running a fever, so we have been home ever since trying to get her better. She is a little better today so I am hoping that we will be at school on Wednesday to start our Labyrinth project. All of you are still responsible for your Latin American projects which are due first thing Wednesday! Also remember that you can bring food to go along with your projects! Hope you all have been working hard, see you tomorrow!

We got a nice, unexpected surprise this week: A lovely 3 day weekend due to our awesome basketball boys going to their regional game on Friday. It was at noon so we get the day off! I won't be going though since my car is leaking coolant and we have to get it fixed! That and me and my husband actually have a day off so we are taking a family day! But I hope our boys do well!

I think the students are all ready for Spring break, I know I am!  We are on our final cultural assignment this week (Latin American Art) and I think it's going to be cool, but some kids are getting serious attitude and are a little burned out I think. (Yeah, you know who you are!) But I KNOW everyone will be better after spring break! Well I'm off to clean my house and then to bed. Yep, exciting weekend for Mrs. FitzSimon....

Welcome to the Mumford Art Page! I hope that everyone is having a great time in art class this year, I know I am!  So what should I write about first? Hmmm....we could discuss our snow adventure this week! Yes it's true, on Tuesday last we were shocked with snow in good old Texas and we actually had to end school early because the roads were getting too bad and we had to get home! My students and I enjoyed a brief snow fight in the parking lot and some nice miniature snow men! (Actually they did all the playing, I watched/threatened from a safe distance for them not to hit me!)

Our Asian projects are going extremely well!  They are looking very pretty and I can't wait to see them all tomorrow! If you are reading this and not finished with your projects, GO GET TO WORK!

If any of my readers are not students and wish to see some of the kids' works, many of my students are entering work into the Robertson County Fair.  We have such a vast group of talent and the best part is that half of them didn't even think they had any artistic ability! Oh what a little motivation and instruction can do to a person with a paint brush in hand!  Hope everyone comes out to the fair next month! Well I'm off to sleep, have a good weekend.
